Poodle Talk – Safety & Use Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Poodle Talk is a gentle, child-friendly chat experience designed to support children in expressing their feelings in a calm and reassuring way. It is a privacy-first wellbeing companion, combining gentle AI, typed and picture-based non-verbal communication, emotional reflection, music, and creative learning.

Poodle Talk is designed for guided, balanced use and is not intended to replace professional medical, mental health, safeguarding, or educational support.

Our poodle characters respond with kindness, warmth, and simplicity — helping children feel heard, comforted, and supported.

1. A Gentle Support Tool

Poodle Talk is not a replacement for a parent, teacher, or qualified professional.

Responses are designed to offer general reassurance and encouragement only. They do not provide medical, psychological, or professional advice.

If a child is feeling worried, upset, or overwhelmed, they should speak to a trusted adult such as a parent, teacher, or caregiver.

2.Safety First

Poodle Talk is not an emergency or crisis support service. If a child may be in immediate danger or requires urgent support, please contact appropriate local emergency, safeguarding, or crisis services.

If a child expresses distress, feeling unsafe, or mentions harm to themselves or others, Poodle Talk is designed to gently guide them towards seeking help from a trusted adult.

If you believe a child may be at risk, please contact appropriate local support services immediately.

3.Privacy & Data

Poodle Talk is designed with simplicity and safety in mind.

  • We do not require personal information to use this feature

  • No accounts or logins required

  • We do not ask for names, addresses, or identifying details

  • Conversations are not intended to collect or store personal data

  • AI responses are designed to be gentle and age-appropriate

  • Emergency guidance directs children to trusted adults

Our goal is to provide a safe and private space for gentle interaction.

4.Anonymous engagement counters

To help improve accessibility and understand how children prefer to communicate, Poodle Talk may keep simple anonymous usage counts, such as:

• which picture card categories are opened

• which emotion buttons are tapped most often

• which age mode (Tiny / Kids / Teens) is selected

These are counts only. We do not store chat content, child names, personal details, or identifiable conversations.

This information is used only to improve accessibility, emotional support tools, and communication options for children.

5.Accounts/login

No login is required to access Poodle Talk’s free trial features, picture cards, or wellbeing tools.

Parents who purchase chat credits may optionally choose to sign in with Google so credits can safely follow across devices, WiFi, and mobile data connections. This helps provide a smoother and more reliable family experience.

The only information stored is what is reasonably required to operate the service safely and correctly, such as purchase-related parent email information and optional Google account details used for credit continuity.

6.Character Experience

The poodle characters in Poodle Talk are friendly, supportive companions designed to communicate in a calm and child-appropriate way.

They:

  • use simple, reassuring language

  • avoid complex or overwhelming responses

  • encourage positive feelings and gentle reflection

They are not real people and should not be relied upon for decision-making or advice.

7.Intended Use

Poodle Talk is designed for children and families as a light, supportive tool for calm moments, emotional expression, and gentle wellbeing activities.

It is designed to:

  • encourage expression of feelings

  • support calm moments

We recommend that children use this feature with awareness and support from a parent, teacher, or caregiver where appropriate.

8.Our Intention

At Poodles & Friends, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and comforted.

Poodle Talk is created with care to offer a small moment of calm, kindness, and connection in a child’s day.

9.For Schools & SEND Support

Poodle Talk can support children with additional needs as a gentle companion tool, including those with speech and language difficulties, SpLD (such as dyslexia), autism (ASC), or anxiety.

It includes visual emotion faces, picture cards (AAC-style), calm-down tools, and accessibility features to support different ways of communicating.

10.How it works

Conversations are powered by advanced AI technology developed by Anthropic.

  • Responses follow structured child-safety guidelines

  • The system does not provide medical, legal, or professional advice

  • If a child expresses distress, guidance focuses on reaching a trusted adult
